A Career Success Program & Skills Challenge

In the Classroom…
JA's Career Success is an in-depth, seven-session, skill building program which develops problem solving
techniques, applies critical thinking to work-based
problems, practices professional collaboration, and much more. After participation, students will also be able to rank work priorities, recognize high-growth industries and identify personal brand and job-hunting tools.
At the Challenge…
More than 200 area students are expected to interact with over 100 business leaders from the community at the JA You're Hired Challenge Event on March 14, 2017 at Onondaga Community College.
Students will engage in various exercises and participate in workshops that put to the test the concepts learned in JA's Career Success program. Students will hear a keynote
address and participate in workshops conducted by local businesses.
Studies show that students participating in JA's High School programs have a greater understanding of
business and entrepreneurship, as well as important 21st century skills, such as critical thinking, decision making, teamwork and problem solving.
Participants in the JA You're Hired program will learn valuable life-long skills while meeting key business leaders in our community (and earning great prizes!)
