JA Job Shadow

JA Job Shadow™ JA Job Shadow prepares students to be entrepreneurial thinkers in their approach to work. Future employees are equipped with the intellectual, technological, and soft skills needed in demanding and ever-changing workplaces.  That's the JA Job Shadow experience!

The JA Job Shadow site visit experience inspires students to learn and demonstrate the basic skills that will make them valuable assets to any employer!  It begins in the classroom with curriculum and activities:

  • Students identify their values, skills, and interests.
  • Students learn the importance of soft skills in any work environment.
  • Students develop the tools necessary for job application, interviewing, and getting hired.

Business Partners + JA of Greater St. Louis = JA Job Shadow experience!

In the final session, the JA Job Shadow site visit, small groups of students have the opportunity to explore general work readiness and ask business professionals about their careers and their place of business.   Students want to learn the skills necessary to succeed in the adult world!

Bring Your Child To Work

Designed to be more than a career day, the Bring Your Child To Work Day program goes beyond the average "shadow" an adult. Exposing child to what a parent or mentor in their lives does during the work day is important, but showing them the value of their education, and providing them an opportunity to share how they envision the future and begin steps toward their end goals in a hands-on and interactive environment is key to their achieving success.
