Headquartered in Fort Worth, Junior Achievement of the Chisholm Trail also has offices in Abilene, Amarillo, and Midland/Odessa. Across our region, JA will reach over 35,000 kindergarten through 12th grade student this year through an innovative partnership between the businesses, educators and volunteers. JA helps young people connect with relevant learning and the importance of staying in school.
Junior Achievement was founded in the United States in 1919, as a high school after-school program teaching students how to create and operate a business. Junior Achievement USA now has expanded to over 120 U.S. offices and 123 countries around the world reaching 9.79 million students annually.
Founded in 1956 in Fort Worth, JA of the Chisholm Trail began with 19 sponsoring companies and 285 students. Since its inception, JA of the Chisholm Trail has grown to over 150 sponsoring companies serving over 28,000 students annually.
JA offers activity-based, interactive instruction that focuses on entrepreneurship, financial literacy as well as work and college readiness. Local volunteers bring business relevancy to the classroom and reinforce the value of education. JA volunteers share real-world experiences to help students broaden their minds and believe in their own capabilities.
