Current Opportunities

Program Coordinator – Peoria Area K-8

About the Position: Do you have a passion for service and want to work to help young people be prepared for their futures? Being a Junior Achievement Program Coordinator may be for you! This part time position supports the Junior Achievement of Central Illinois program team with Junior Achievement (JA) Kindergarten – 8th grade traditional and blended program implementation primarily within the Peoria area.

This includes but is not limited to teacher & volunteer renewal/recruitment, training, correspondence, monitoring, evaluation, and stewardship. The Program Coordinator communicates with current and prospective volunteers and teachers, provides new teacher/volunteer training, solves problems and provides customer service, orders and tracks program materials, enters data and prepares reports, and coordinates administration of program pre-/post-surveys.

The position is based in East Peoria, IL. Under non-pandemic situations, the position involves a fair amount of local travel within primarily the Peoria area. Remote work may occur on a temporary basis during the global pandemic but is not expected to be permanent.

Minimum Requirements: 2-year college degree & 1+ year of nonprofit experience (or High School Diploma/equivalent & 3+ years of nonprofit experience) demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, & Teams; and demonstrated proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, Forms, & Slides. Exceptional attention to detail required.

Desired: Experience with K-8 educational settings and/or 2-5 years of relevant nonprofit work experience, Bachelor's Degree, experience utilizing a customer database system (CRM), experience with public speaking & virtual training, and familiarity with Peoria area public and private K-8 schools.

Details: Hourly wage, part time, approximately 4 hours per day/20 hours per week Monday – Friday between hours of 8 am – 5 pm (schedule to be determined at time of hiring)

Pay Structure of Position: Base hourly wage range: $14.66 - $17.40.

Benefits: Paid time off (vacation, personal, and medical), 8 paid holidays per year and paid holiday break December 24 – December 31.
