JA Finance Park Volunteer Resources | Junior Achievement of Central Iowa

JA Finance Park

JA Finance Park teaches middle and high school students about personal money management by simulating the financial decisions and challenges they will experience in their adult lives. Students assume family and income scenarios and gather information to make financial decisions. They apply for loans, contribute to charities, pay for basic living expenses and make investments, all while working to balance their budgets. Each student receives an iPad to use for the day at our facility.

JA Finance Park Volunteer Role

As a volunteer, you will be assigned to one of the storefronts in JA Finance Park, where you will provide information about different budget items, assist the students in balancing their budget, and help them to stay on task and focus on their personal goals.

You do not need to have specific expertise and are encouraged to share real-world experiences/advice with the students as they learn what it means to be a working professional.

Junior Achievement will provide all the training you need to prepare for your day. Please feel free to ask as many questions during the volunteer training the morning of the simulation and throughout the day.  We want this day to be the best possible for you and the students!
