ja inspiration luncheon
As we conclude a momentous 2018-2019 school year, we must take the time to thank our JA volunteers, students, school districts and local organizations that make all this an incredible reality.
The 2nd Annual Junior Achievement Inspiration Luncheon was held on Thursday, June 20th at Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines, Iowa and presented by Voya Financial. The JA Inspiration Luncheon serves as an opportunity to recognize the service and impact that Junior Achievement of Central Iowa volunteers and sponsoring companies and school districts have on their local communities.
In total, six Inspiration Awards were given out. Recipients of the Volunteer of the Year have personified inspiration and preparation as a JA classroom volunteer. The Company of the Year award distinguishes the company that best inspires and prepares young people to succeed. Through volunteerism and/or financial support, the Company of the Year provides an impactful investment in Junior Achievement of Central Iowa's financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work-readiness programs. Honorees are nominated and selected by educators and district superintendents and represent the very best of JA volunteers. New this year are the JA BizTown Citizen of the Year, as well as the School District of the Year. The JA BizTown Citizen of the Year is recognized for their leadership, positive attitude and enthusiasm, both before and during their time at JA BizTown. Lastly, the School District of the Year Each awardee was recognized at the podium during the program and presented an award that can be showcased for years to come.
