JA BizTown® is all that, and more. This financial literacy laboratory exists to inspire and prepare youth to succeed. Today more than ever, young adults need a strong foundation for making intelligent, lifelong, personal financial decisions.
To improve the financial literacy of our future business leaders and employees, Junior Achievement has created an exciting reality-based learning environment for elementary students. JA BizTown students to see, touch, and live the experience of personal finance in a real-life setting of stores, shops, and financial institutions, by basically becoming "an adult for the day."
Currently, JA BizTown is full for the 2019-2020 school year. Please contact Shannon Gerard if your school would like to be added to the waitlist.
Volunteers are needed to mentor small groups of students throughout their day at JA BizTown. No special expertise or preparation is necessary and thorough training is provided for all volunteers! Parent volunteers should contact the classroom teacher to get involved. We have a few JA BizTown simulations that currently need more volunteers! If you are a community volunteer please sign up HERE.
If you would like more information about how you can become a JA BizTown volunteer please contact Shannon Gerard or call 515.279.9602 ext 218.
