Meet the JA Staff

Teri Patrick

Title: Data and Operations Manager

When did you join the JA Team: July 2018

Family: My family includes my husband Dale and my two sons: Kyle, 22, a senior at the University of Iowa and Colin, 13, who is in Jr. High at Indian Hills. We also have two fur-family members Louie, a 4 year old rescue dog whose DNA test indicates he is an Australian Cattle Weimer Doodle and Kallie a Golden Retriever who is a certified Therapy Dog.

Favorite Activity/hobbies: I enjoy spending time with my family and watching them do all their various activities. I also enjoy taking pictures and painting. I try to stay active by working out and walking the dogs.

What is my fondest memory: I used to enter photos in the Iowa State Fair Photography competition.  There was one year where the pre-viewing of the photos was actually on my birthday. When I went to the viewing I found out that all four of my photos were on display and I was awarded a first place on one of my photos and an honorable mention on another of my photos. That was a very nice surprise on my birthday.

One quirky thing about yourself: I am not sure that I have any quirks, but I would venture to say my family and co-workers would say I have a ‘punny' sense of humor and that my jokes may not be as funny as I find them.

If you had one favorite thing to eat or drink for the rest of your life, what would it be?: We have a family tradition at our house called  "Super Steak Sunday". Not only do I enjoy the steak, but also the laughs and family time we enjoy eating the meal together.

What do you look forward to in (and or) accomplishing within in your position at JA? I enjoy working at JA because I feel like I am making a difference. Because I am a life-long learner, I have learned many different skills that help advance the JA mission.   I would consider myself a "utility player" on the JA team. The unique thing about my role is I can help in many areas be it in data analytics, graphic design, photography, volunteering or office renovations. I love the variety, seeing the difference I am making, and feeling like a valuable part of the team.
