JA Her Path to Promise
JA Her Path to Promise is an intensive summer program at Towson University that creates pathways for young women by providing exposure to female mentors, college campuses, workplaces, hands-on activities, and other experiences to begin the process of preparing for a successful life after graduation from high school.
Through networking, one-on-one mentoring, mock interviews, resume building, and personal branding guidance from female professionals, the young women apply these skills to secure a job or internship on the final day during the career fair expo, which features local employers from a variety of industries.
"It was truly humbling and inspiring to be a part of the career fair. Each girl has faced a tremendous amount of adversity, yet they all possess a drive and determination to change the world for the better. They are very impressive young women, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact that they have on the world in the future," said Courtney Neubauer, HR Generalist, COMPASS Cyber Security.
"I learned a lot in such a short time. I now have a better understanding on how to dress professionally and stand out during the interview process against other candidates. The networking piece with professionals has been really beneficial to me. It has opened the door to new opportunities and I've met contacts who want to hire me just from meeting me through this experience," said a JA Her Path to Promise participant.
