JA BizTown Volunteer Information
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at JA BizTown!
JA BizTown is a 4-6 week, in-depth, experiential program created by Junior Achievement USA that correlates to national learning standards. Teachers deliver 12-18 lessons in the classroom prior to the students' visit to JA BizTown. During these lessons, students will learn about Junior Achievement's three pillars: financial literacy, career readiness and entrepreneurship. Each student will interview for a job at school. They might become the Disc Jockey at CD102.5, the Sales Manager at Thirty-One Gifts, or the CEO at Huntington Bank!
After the classroom lessons, students will visit JA BizTown, a place where kids run the world for a day! The students work in one of our 18 shops, trying to pay back their business loan by the end of the day. They will go shopping in JA BizTown, buying things from other shops while balancing their checkbook, of course!
Eighteen to twenty-five (18-25) JA BizTown volunteers are needed to help guide the students through the simulation, keep them on-task, answer their questions, and share their own personal work experiences.
JA BizTown Volunteer Registration
If you are a parent or family member who would like to join us as a volunteer, please contact your student's teacher to register.
If you are a corporate or community partner and would like to join us as a volunteer or schedule an entire group to "adopt a JA BizTown day," please email Pete Crozier
, Vice President of Capstone Programs, or call (614) 704-2448.
If you wish to join us at JA BizTown you must register as a volunteer prior to your visit. As a security procedure for the students, adults who have not completed their registration online will not be allowed entrance into the facility.
Volunteers are registered on a first-come, first-served basis. So that students may focus on the activities of the day, it is our policy that parents will not be assigned to their child's shop. Thank you for your understanding.
JA BizTown Volunteer Training
You will attend a volunteer training on your scheduled day before the students arrive.
