Kids Learn Best By Doing
Trained community volunteers prepare students from kindergarten through 12th grade for the real world by showing them how to generate and effectively manage income, create jobs to benefit the community, and apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace.
A JA In-Class Volunteer's Role
As a volunteer for JA In-Class programs you serve as a role model to the students in the classroom - sharing your experience and enthusiasm with the kids. Volunteers partner with a local teacher to share fun and challenging curriculum provided by JA. Opportunities are available for elementary, middle, and high school.
JA In-Class Programs - Weekly vs. JA-In-A-Day (JAID)
The weekly JA In-Class programs is a format consisting of five to six 45-minute classroom visits. As a volunteer, you can teach a class by yourself or bring a friend and split the classes or team teach. The JA In A Day Program enables volunteers to present the curriculum in one, five hour, day. This format provides an excellent opportunity for corporate or community groups to volunteer.
