JA of Central Upstate New York's volunteer-delivered, kindergarten-12th grade programs foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills, and use experiential learning to inspire students in our community to dream big and reach their potential.

 

Why Junior Achievement?

JA helps students realize that the education they are getting today will help them to have a bright future tomorrow. JA's unique, volunteer delivered programs, show them all of the possibilities that lay before them. They realize they can choose different paths; College? A specific trade? Start their own business? Through your participation as an organization or as an individual, these statistics below can begin to change in your community:

  • 20% of U.S. students will not complete high school on time and earn a diploma.
  • 49% of U.S. employers recognize that talent shortages impact their ability to serve clients and customers.
  • 36% of Americans say that they have at some point in their lives felt their financial situation was out of control.
  • 91% of millennials wish they had greater access to entrepreneurial education programs.

JA Entrepreneurial Summit

JA Entrepreneurial Summit

When: November 2020
Where: TBD

Multiple times a year, JA provides an opportunity for youth from throughout our Region to collaborate with each other - learning from each others' skills and creativity, unlocking their entrepreneurial potential, and providing a roadmap of the entrepreneurial ecosytem in our community.

Students receive a personal mentor to explore the foundational concepts of entrepreneurship, such as market and needs analysis, design thinking, research, funding and even practice pitching their own idea, or they could spend time solving a current business or social issue in our community.  

JA Financial Fitness Movement

JA Financial Fitness Movement

When: Race Dates Coming Soon!

 You can now run, walk and move your way to help JA students move toward a stronger financial future.

Junior Achievement of Central Upstate New York is launching the JA Financial Fitness Movement, a virtual fitness race that's a fun way for work colleagues, families and friends to stay active while supporting JA financial literacy programs for area students.

During a two week competition, teams of racers will work their way through a virtual 25 mile custom route that highlights local landmarks and JA partners.

In this prestigious event, Junior Achievement will be honoring influential, visionary leaders from the business community that have made a significant impact, outstanding contributions to free enterprise and have set new standards for future business leaders while serving as role models for young people. Their accomplishments demonstrate business excellence, courageous thinking and actions, vision and innovation, and community mindedness.

JA Stock Market Challenge

The Stock Market Challenge offers participants a unique and fun opportunity to enjoy team-based decision making during a realistic simulation of the stock exchange.
