JA Produces Proven Results
The University of Delaware Education Research & Development Center, College of Education & Public Policy, conducted an evaluation of JA BizTown in 2013. This study involved matched pre and post-testing of 1,861 JA BizTown students. Researchers found statistically significant knowledge gains from the start to the end of the program, with pre-test average score of 8.95 and post-test of 13.73. This was followed by a KPMG nationwide study of JA Finance Park which showed that 24% of Delaware students who said they were "unlikely to graduate from a 2-year college" before their JA Finance Park experience changed their response to "LIKELY" while they were at JA Finance Park!
In 2018-19, Junior Achievement of Delaware reached over 17,000 K-12 students in all three of Delaware's counties, and in nearby Cecil and Salem Counties in Maryland and New Jersey respectively. Through scientifically proven methods, we are changing student attitudes from "I Can't" to "I CAN!"

THE POWER OF THREE
Dear friends and supporters,
Three is the right number for persuasion. At least that is the assertion of a bookmarked New York Times article I recently re-read called, "The Power of Three," by Susannah Jacob published a few years ago.
This article reports on the research by Kurt A. Carlson and Suzanne B. Shu that claims, "when trying to persuade, four claims are one too many."
Why is THREE so powerful? For that explanation, I recommend a fun Business Insider marketing article by Ira Kalb that cited everything from the Holy Trinity to the Three Stooges as demonstrating why humans prefer to consider things--and therefore why marketers need to present options--in threes.
For me, THREE came to the fore when a friend asked if I knew the meaning of the Junior Achievement logo. This question sent my mind back three decades to the old JA office on North Jackson Street in Wilmington. That is where I was when the current JA logo was rolled out, having already been changed three times since 1919.
The question rekindled vivid memories…and some cloudy ones, too. So, I referred to my JA corporate identifier guidelines, which reminded me the sides of the triangle represent three brand elements: YOUNG PEOPLE, EDUCATORS and BUSINESS; and that the upward steps represent the sequential nature of JA programs from ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE, to HIGH.
The new logo foreshadowed JA's three pillars: WORK READINESS, ENTREPRENEURSHIP, and FINANCIAL LITERACY.

While many worthy causes respond to community needs after the fact, Junior Achievement donors are proactive in preparing the next generation to be less reliant on such reactive measures and empower young people to own their economic success! So how else could I end this tribute to three but...
