Inspire and Prepare Young People to Succeed
Junior Achievement of Eastern North Carolina
Helps Prepare Today's Students for a Bright Future
JA of Eastern North Carolina's volunteer-delivered, kindergarten-12th grade programs foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills, and use experiential learning to inspire students in our community to dream big and reach their potential.
Why Junior Achievement?
JA helps students realize that the education they are getting today will help them to have a bright future tomorrow. JA's unique, volunteer delivered programs, show them all of the possibilities that lay before them. They realize they can choose different paths; College? A specific trade? Start their own business? Through your participation as an organization or as an individual, these statistics below can begin to change in your community:
- 20% of U.S. students will not complete high school on time and earn a diploma.
- 49% of U.S. employers recognize that talent shortages impact their ability to serve clients and customers.
- 36% of Americans say that they have at some point in their lives felt their financial situation was out of control.
- 91% of millennials wish they had greater access to entrepreneurial education programs.

JA of Eastern North Carolina Spotlight
7th Annual MetLife Bowlathon to support Junior Achievement of Eastern NC
Are you interested in having a great time, winning prizes and socializing with your MetLife coworkers? Add on the feel-good vibe of supporting Junior Achievement of Eastern NC's programs that educates K-12 students about the fundamentals of our economic system, and you'll have a rollin' good time.
It's a "Party with a Purpose"
The goal is for each team of 5 to raise $500 ($100 each member) to fund a JA program for 1 classroom and increase the impact of JA's proven programs by providing experiences to between 20 and 25 students.
Last year MetLife associates raised over $11,300 to support Junior Achievement programs in schools in the Triangle. With those funds JA of Eastern NC was able to serve over 450 students. Your support this year will help bring Junior Achievement's economic education programs to even more students in our community.
