Cox Communications Hosts Onsite Event with Junior Achievement of Kansas

Cox Communications hosted 20 students from East High School for their annual onsite program hosted in conjunction with Junior Achievement (JA) of Kansas. This program allows for high school students to take an inside look into a local company to learn about careers.

The day began with a welcome presentation by Coleen Jennison, Kansas Market Vice President. Students were given a deeper look into The Technology of Cox from Jeff Maples and Ryan Kremeier; Manager of Cox Business Operations and Cox Business Field Services Supervisor, respectively. Maples also serves on the Junior Achievement of Kansas Wichita Advisory Board of Directors.

Maryann Balbo, Vice President of Cox Media, gave students a look at what a career journey at Cox Communications could look like before the students split into breakout sessions. Breakout sessions focused on Cox Business, Cox Media, Customer Care and Technical Support, and were led by industry leaders that allowed for a more personalized discussion.

"We are thankful for Cox's partnership every year. The sessions provide such a rare opportunity for students to have a one-on-one conversation with business leaders! It's a great partnership." says Marci Werne, JA Wichita District Director.

The event concluded with a networking lunch. This is the fourth year for Cox Communication to host the onsite event.
