Junior Achievement Receives Donation from Topeka Gives
6/19/18 4:52 PM: Topeka, KS - Junior Achievement of Kansas has received a $2,151.14 donation from the Topeka Community Foundation. This donation is a result of the Topeka Gives event held on June 5, 2018.
Topeka Gives was started in 2013 to celebrate the Topeka Community Foundation's 30th year. Its inaugural year boasted 75 non profit organizations and raised over $189,000. Since its inception, the event has grown, the 2018 event hosting 165 nonprofit organizations and raising a total of $597,421.19. The money is raised in part by donations from community members and a percentage is matched by the Topeka Community Foundation. The 2018 match was $80,500, making the pre-match donated amount $516,921.19.
Junior Achievement of Kansas has participated in Topeka Gives all six years. "This event, year to year, is a great example of the support that exists for JA. Whether it's donating or signing up to be a volunteer, we're excited to be a part of Topeka Gives and thankful for our supporters," quotes Ashley Charest, President, Junior Achievement of Kansas. The funds raised will help Junior Achievement of Kansas carry out its mission to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.
