Lease Finance Partners Takes Home Top Prize at Second Annual JA Golf Classic

The second annual JA Golf Classic, presented by Capitol Federal, was held Monday, October 7 at the Wichita Country Club. Nearly 60 golfers came out for the second largest annual fundraiser for the Wichita district of Junior Achievement of Kansas. The event raised over $27,000 for the Wichita district.

The day began with a continental breakfast. Golfers received a $100 Titleist pop-up shop gift card to use before the scramble-style tournament began with a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. Throughout the course, golfers were treated to unparalleled views and on-course lunch options, as well as course competition holes including closest to the pin, longest putt and longest drive.

Third place winners, with a score of 59 were Terry Wiggers, Mitch Linn, Mark Jolliffe, and J Means of SJCF Architecture. Also scoring 59 and winning the scorecard playoff for second place were Logan Woodbridge, Bill Anderson, Jay McDorman and Frank Lichtlin of INTRUST Bank. The top prize was won by David Urban, David Bengston, Rolf Gunderson and Mark Lazzo of Lease Finance Partners with a score of 55. Students from Chaparral High School made this year's trophies.

The tournament concluded with a 19th Hole Reception. Presenting sponsor Capitol Federal spoke toward the partnership between JA and Cap Fed, and Marci Werne, JA Wichita District Director, shared information regarding JA's programs. Each year, the Wichita district serves over 10,000 students through over 450 classes.

For the second consecutive year, Capitol Federal was the presenting sponsor of the tournament. Additional sponsors included American Family Insurance – Kerri Mauck Agency, AgVantis, The Carnahan Group, Cox Business, Cox Communications, Evergy, Max Harris, Intrust Bank, Lease Finance Partners, Lee Aerospace, Meritrust Credit Union, Nexus Commercial Property Maintenance, SJCF Architecture, SPK Grocery and the WSU Center for Entrepreneurship.
