The Role of a JA BizTown Volunteer

In JA BizTown, we strive to create an environment in which students are empowered to make their own decisions. Volunteers play an important role in supporting students as they complete their job tasks, and helping them work through the challenges they face as a business team. Some of the specific responsibilities of volunteers are:

  • supervise the safety of 4-12 students within a particular business
  • facilitate business group discussions
  • help individual students understand job instructions
  • provide encouragement and support
  • watch for teachable moments to make connections to real-life situations
By sharing your personal and professional experiences and skills with students, you help them make the connection between what they are learning in school and the skills they will need to succeed in work and life.
