Why Junior Achievement?
JA helps students realize that the education they are getting today will help them to have a bright future tomorrow. JA's unique, volunteer delivered programs, show them all of the possibilities that lay before them. They realize they can choose different paths; College? A specific trade? Start their own business? Through your participation as an organization or as an individual, these statistics below can begin to change in your community:
- 20% of U.S. students will not complete high school on time and earn a diploma.
- 49% of U.S. employers recognize that talent shortages impact their ability to serve clients and customers.
- 36% of Americans say that they have at some point in their lives felt their financial situation was out of control.

Volunteer Spotlight
Volunteer mentors and facilitators are the lifeblood of JA's service delivery model. About 3,000 volunteers each year share their personal and professional experiences and skills with students, helping them make the connection between what they are learning in school and what they will need to succeed in work and life.
Bowl-a-Thon
Bowl-a-Thon is one of JA's largest fundraising events which helps us provide economic education at NO COST to local schools. They are "parties with a purpose" that encourage interaction between company departments, builds goodwill and boosts team building in a fun environment.
31st Annual Business Hall of Fame
JA's signature fundraising gala celebrates its 31st year of honoring the most innovative and inspiring business leaders of the San Francico Bay Area! Arrive to the cocktail reception designed for networking and bid on one of many fun and adventurous silent auction items. Enjoy a gourmet dinner while being entertained by the Laureates and their award presentation ceremony.
Golf Classic
Held at the prestigious Diablo Country Club, a private golf course nestled in the foothills of Mt. Diablo, players will have access to an all-inclusive round of golf with a complimentary caddie for each foursome, a Titlest shopping experience, a gourmet dinner, silent auction, live auction, and awards program.
