JA of Northern California Glenlyon Scholarship

Junior Achievement of Northern California is pleased to announce the JA Glenlyon Scholarship program. The program provides college-bound students with a $5,000, 4-year renewable scholarship aimed to inspire and support college success.

Funds for the JA Glenlyon Scholarship program were generously provided by an anonymous donor who wants to remove financial barriers to higher education for Northern California students. New scholarships will be awarded each year, while existing recipients, who remain in good standing, will be eligible to renew their scholarship award for up to four years.

High school seniors are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Requirements include that the student participate in a JA program, volunteer with JA, have a minimum of 2.75 GPA, and enroll full time at an accredited college or university.

Submission deadline - 5:00 pm on March 2, 2020

National Flight academy SCHOLARSHIP

Junior Achievement of Northern California is also offering five (5) student scholarships to 7th - 12th grade girls, to attend camp at the National Flight Academy in Pensacola, FL from June 21-26, 2020.

The National Flight Academy's flagship program blends the culture and excitement of aviation with 21st century technology and core competencies in an exclusive, entertaining, and engaging immersive environment to provide a best in the world learning adventure.

Students live for six days in a multi-story structure and experience theme-park style thrills surrounded by advanced technology, flight simulators, and virtual reality missions that ignite imagination and encourage learning. While living aboard AMBITION, AMBITION eXperimental Pilots (AXPs) are enveloped in life as a Naval Aviator aboard a modern aircraft carrier. Missions progressively become more challenging throughout the week as the AXPs advance their aviation science skills as well as their communication skills.

The JA scholarships covers the cost for one, six-day overnight deployment at $1,250. Flights to/from Florida are the responsibility of the student. JA of Northern California will coordinate the details of the scholarships directly with the students. Applications are due by February 17, 2020.
