NEW 2019-20 JA Programs

Staying current with learning and economic trends is vital to helping today's students ensure tomorrow's financial successes. Junior Achievement is excited to introduce brand new options for the 2019-20 school year, bringing the latest in financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship pathway education to all ages and levels. JA Career Exploration Fair

Grade Levels: K-12
Summary: JA Career Exploration Fair is an event where students learn about a range of career options across multiple career clusters. Volunteers share information about their businesses and/or jobs and students ask questions as the speakers or students rotate from station to station. Activities and implementation design will vary based on grade level.

JA Career Speaker Series

Grade Levels: K-12
Summary: In JA Career Speakers Series, a volunteer guest speaker visits the classroom and shares information about his or her career, work, and education experience. The speaker may bring props, samples of his or her work, or other visuals to help engage students. Activities and implementation design will vary based on grade level.

JA It's My Job (Soft Skills)

Grade Levels: Recommended for grades 9-12 but may be adapted for grades 6-8
Summary: JA It's My Job (Soft Skills) will help students understand the value of professional communication and soft skills, making them more employable to future employers across multiple career clusters. Lessons will focus on social and soft skill competencies relating real-life experiences to job skills and preparing students for their future careers. Topics include communication and presentation skills, manners, listening skills, and cell phone etiquette.

JA Excellence Through Ethics

Grade Levels: 6-12
Summary: JA Excellence through Ethics is a 60- to 90-minute learning experience where students meet and interact with a local executive or business professional and learn about the importance of ethics in the workplace and in everyday life. Students will give thoughtful consideration and examination of personal beliefs and their relationship to ethics. They will start to develop a personal awareness of values. Activities and implementation design will vary based on grade level.


JA High School Experience Semeser Courses

Grade Levels: 9-12
Summary: The JA High School Experience is a series of semester-long, experiential, blended learning courses designed to empower students to own their economic success. Each course is accompanied by state-creditable instructional content (IC) that include projects and support career pathways that most closely align with JA areas of expertise. The courses are primarily teacher-taught with volunteer engagement opportunities throughout. Each course also incorporates a business-based case study (CS), which integrates interdisciplinary lessons on core principles. Case study sponsorship and volunteer engagement opportunities bring real-world professionals into the learning.
