The JA Career Readiness Conference introduces high school students to future careers and provides them with the skills to apply for and secure their first job through interactive discussions, activities, and a business simulation competition.

During the JA Career Readiness Conference, students will have the opportunity to participate in ONE of the two different Conference Tracks during this one-day event. Below are the descriptions for each Conference Track. All students will also participate in the brand new, interactive financial literacy event.

TITAN TRACK

Students compete to win scholarships using the JA Titan program online business simulation, which allows students to gain a real-world understanding of the effects management decisions have on a company's bottom line. Participants also learn what it's like to be a CEO in a global economy through these simulated business investments.

Students determine the success or failure of their businesses based on how well they manage key decisions, including setting prices, filling production requests, establishing marketing, and investing in research and development.

CAREER TRACK

Students explore and develop a vision and realistic plan for their futures through this track. Students learn industry tips for applying and keeping a job through interactive discussions and group activities. Students will rotate through four of the five sessions:
  • Side Hustle
  • Cell Phones in the Workplace
  • Applications & Resumes
  • Women in Entrepreneurship
  • Communicating About Yourself
