Carol L. Carbary

Carol L. Carbary – Development Director

Carol L. Carbary, ACFRE, joined Junior Achievement of North Central Ohio as the Development Director in October 2015. She has more than twenty years of development and fundraising experience at institutions such as Case Western Reserve University, University Hospitals of Cleveland, Kent State University, and the Cleveland Clinic. She was also Vice President of Advancement at Notre Dame College and President and CEO of the Foundation at North Central State College. In 2015, Carol earned the prestigious Advanced Certificate of Fund Raising Executive (ACFRE), held by only 107 people worldwide. She has a BA in Math/Physics from Wells College (NY), BS in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, and an MBA from Kent State University. In her free time, Carol enjoys reading, traveling, and playing board games.

Carol was born and raised in central New York State but has lived in Northeast Ohio for more than 20 years, currently residing in Cleveland Heights.

Holly Dawson (Camp)

Holly Dawson (Camp) – District Manager, Program Contact for Ashland, Coshocton, Crawford, Holmes, Knox, Marion, Medina, Morrow, Richland, and Wayne Counties

Holly Dawson (Camp) joined the Junior Achievement of North Central Ohio Education Team as a District Manager in August of 2015. She now serves as District Manager for Medina, Wayne, Holmes, and Coshocton Counties . Holly was born and raised in Mansfield, Ohio.  She studied Financial Management at North Central State College and previously worked as a Licensed Relationship Manager for Key Bank.  She obtained both her FINRA Series 6 & 63 Investment License as well as her Ohio Life Insurance License. Holly has three children and resides in the Lucas area.
One fun fact about Holly is that she loves the Ohio State Buckeyes!

Denice Shafer

Denice Shafer – Senior District Director, Program Contact for Akron Public Schools and Portage County

Denice Schafer joined the Junior Achievement office in 1986 where she has served as a program manager, program director, and marketing director. In 1995, she became the President of the Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley office in Youngstown. In 2005, Denice returned to the North Central office as Senior District Director. Denice graduated from Bowling Green State University with a BS/BA degree in Human Resource Management and Industrial Labor Relations. She lives in Boardman with her husband Rick, daughter, and twin sons. She is actively involved in her community where she teaches a CCD class and has volunteered with many other school and community organizations. 
One thing people don't know about Denice is that she and her husband coordinate a baseball tournament every year at the Boardman Community Baseball (BCB) complex. Proceeds from the tournaments are used to award two $2,500 scholarships to BCB alumni and provide capital improvements to the Field of Dreams.

Benjamin Nypaver

Benjamin Nypaver – Development Coordinator

Benjamin Nypaver is a recent graduate of The University of Akron, earning his degree in Economics. He spent time in China studying abroad, and participated in the U.S. State Department's Critical Language Scholarship program on site in Guangzhou. He has joined our team as Development Coordinator after serving as our intern during the spring 2018 semester. His hobbies include reading, cooking, and visiting local breweries. If you see him at a pub, offer to buy him an IPA—those are his favorite.
