PROGRAM & EVENTS INTERN

ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW: Junior Achievement of North Florida (JA) is dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to own their economic success, plan for their futures, and make smart academic and economic choices. Through a dedicated volunteer network, JA provides in-school and after-school programs for kindergarten through 12th grade students that focus on work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. Founded in 1963, the non-profit organization annually serves more than 20,000 students throughout North Florida, with an emphasis on high-need communities throughout the region.
 
INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW: This position is a great resume-building opportunity to support a respected and growing organization's program and outreach efforts. As an intern, you will assist with program development and implementation as well as special event execution. This role provides a beneficial environment for networking with business leaders and community volunteers.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provides frontline support to JA Inspire program implementation team in the build out of new virtual program that will launch in fall 2021 2. Supports Events Manager with event planning and implementation. 3. Compile curriculum materials for elementary and secondary programming. 4. Supports volunteer/educator training and program implementation. 5. Provides occasional operational and administrative support during meetings and special events.
 
REQUIREMENTS: Proficient in MS Office Suite • Strong written and verbal communication skills, well-developed research skills and ability to multi-task • Ability to learn new programs quickly • Strong organizational skills • Detailed oriented and dependable 
 
PREFERRED CRITERIA: Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0. Junior, Senior, Graduating December 2021 - May 2023. 
 
PREFERRED MAJORS: Social Work/Human Services, Family & Consumer Science, Secondary Education, Elementary Education, Public Relations, Entrepreneurship, Non-Profit Management, Sport Business & Marketing, Business Administration & Management, Marketing, and Parks, Recreation & Leisure Studies majors
 
WORK AUTHORIZATION REQUIREMENTS
US work authorization required.
 
REPORTS TO: Special Events Manager
 
HOURS & DURATION: Office-based role. 24 hours per week (8 hours daily T/W/TH) • Start date June 7, 2021. End date July 30, 2021.
 
PAY: $12/hr
