The annual $mart Women Make Change! is Junior Achievement's signature event to benefit the JA Girl$ program. JA Girl$ has educated more than 19,000 girls and young women in financial literacy, career readiness and entrepreneurship since 2006.
This annual event brings together those in the community whose unwavering support impacts what JA Girl$ and Junior Achievement are able to accomplish now and into the future.
Denise Johnson - Group President, Caterpillar Inc.
Denise C. Johnson is a group president of Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, Illinois. She has responsibility for Resources Industries, which includes three divisions – Innovation and Technology Development, Material Handling & Underground, and Surface Mining & Technology.
Johnson joined Caterpillar in 2011 and initially served as the general manager of Specialty Products within Caterpillar's Reman & Components Division, where she had global responsibility for wear component products and facilities. She previously had a career with General Motors, where she built deep expertise in operations and product management. In 2012, the Caterpillar Board of Directors named Johnson vice president of the Diversified Products Division. In 2013, Johnson was named vice president of Integrated Manufacturing Operations, and in 2014, she was named vice president of Material Handling & Underground Division.
Johnson, a native of Portland, Michigan, graduated from Michigan State University in 1989 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. She earned dual master's degrees in mechanical engineering and business administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1997.
Johnson is a member of numerous outside boards, including National Mining Association, National Association of Manufacturers, The Mosaic Company, MIT Leaders for Global Operations Governing Board, Junior Achievement USA, OSF Saint Francis Medical Center Community Advisory Board, and The Center for Prevention of Abuse. Johnson also serves as the executive sponsor of the Caterpillar Women in Leadership initiative.

Delores Barr Weaver Forever Event Fund
$mart Women Make Change! is supported by a grant from the Delores Barr Weaver Forever Event Fund, est. 2015.
About the Delores Barr Weaver Forever Event Fund:
Delores Barr Weaver established this Fund in 2015 to provide a $10,000 grant annually to support a premiere fundraising event in perpetuity at 20 local nonprofit organizations. This grant will provide a permanent source of income for organizations that Mrs. Weaver has generously supported for many years. It is her hope that other individuals will make similar permanent gifts to organizations that have been important to them. This Fund is one of a collection of Funds established by Delores Barr Weaver at The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida. Mrs. Weaver has an extraordinary legacy of philanthropy, and she has provided transformative support to dozens of nonprofit organizations that uplift, enlighten and advance our community. Her establishment of the Delores Barr Weaver Fund ($50 million) in 2012 was the largest gift in The Community Foundation's history.
