Joseph Peri

Joseph Peri – President

Joseph A. Peri was appointed President of  JA New York in 2010, where he leads a staff of 24 full-time and three part-time employees. He has governance and oversight of JA operations in the five NYC boroughs, the two counties of Long Island and the Lower Hudson Valley.

Prior to his current role, he served as Acting President & Chief Executive Officer of The Council for Economic Education (CEE), a leading international economic education organization. He oversaw all aspects of the operation, which included management of a $13 million budget and a 33-person staff.

Prior to joining CEE, Mr. Peri was Assistant Vice President for Finance at The Commonwealth Fund, a large private grant-making foundation located in New York. He also formerly worked at Reliance Group Holdings and Deloitte & Touche.

Mr. Peri is a graduate of Fordham University. He's also a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner.

Christopher Malin

Christopher Malin – Vice President Finance & Administration

Christopher Malin has served as Vice President of Finance & Administration for JA New York since January 2011. In this role, Mr. Malin manages all finance, accounting, human resources and day-to-day operations.

Mr. Malin has over 20 years experience as a senior financial and administrative manager in the not-for-profit, public, and private sectors. For the last 13 years, he has worked at the New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC), a not-for-profit organization that serves as the City of New York's principal economic development and planning arm. During his career at EDC, he served in a series of positions with increasing responsibility and oversight, from Assistant Vice President to Vice President and Treasurer/Controller. Prior to his experience at EDC, he worked for the New York City Department of Finance and for United Parcel Service.

Mr. Malin has a B.B.A. in accounting from Pace University in New York.

Renee Colombo

Renee Colombo – Vice President, Resource Development

Renee Colombo was appointed to the position of Vice President for Resource Development in  July, 2014. In this role, Ms. Colombo has strategic oversight and management of Resource Development, Fundraising and Marketing and Communications for JA New York's NYC, Long Island and Lower Hudson Valley operations.

Prior to  joining JA New York, Ms. Colombo served as Director of Development at Goddard Riverside in NYC. She also has extensive experience in the K-12 economic education space, having served for nearly eight years in the role of Vice President for Development and Communications at the Council for Economic Education. She has also served in senior roles at Bailey House, Inc. as well as New Mexico AIDS Services. A native Long Islander, Ms. Colombo received a B.A. in Government from Smith College.

Jessica O'Brien

Jessica O'Brien – Vice President, Programs

Jessica O'Brien was appointed to the position of Vice President for Programs in July, 2010. In this role, Ms. O'Brien has strategic oversight and management of JA Program operations in New York City, Long Island and the Lower Hudson Valley, where her chief priorities are to deliver high quality programming and volunteer experiences to the schools and communities we serve, while building new partnerships and strengthening existing ones to meet institutional and programmatic goals.

Ms. O'Brien began her career at JA New York in 2006 as a manager of programs and quickly moved into higher level positions as Senior Manager, Director, and Senior Director.

Prior to working at JA New York, Ms. O'Brien served as a Northern Region Manager & Program Manager for the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation (AARBF), a non-profit organization serving the state of California.

Ms. O'Brien received a B.S. in Business Administration from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She double majored in Marketing and Management. She was also a candidate in the United Way Junior Fellows Program and she completed a business education course in "Developing Managerial Effectiveness for JA Worldwide" at the Executive Education Program at Penn State's Smeal College of Business.
