Coronavirus (Covid19)  Update

Junior Achievement placed an extended pause on all programs as we waited to see how the COVID-19 pandemic would impact the school year. Governor Wolf has now announced that all schools in Pennsylvania are closed for the remainder of the school year.

In response, our local JA team is working to ensure that our programs continue to reach as many students as possible. We are currently working with educators to provide digital resources to grades K-5 at no charge.

It is our goal to continue empowering students to own their economic success... especially during these challenging times. While we're getting those digital resources out to schools, we're also preparing to return in the fall... stronger than ever.

We did want to make you aware of the following changes to our  spring events:

  • All JA school based programs are suspended through the end of the school year.

  • Our signature fundraising event, "A Global Tasting", originally scheduled for April 18, will take the place of "Brews Around Town" on September 12.

  • The STEM Corporate Challenge will be moved to the fall with dates to be determined.

  • The launch of the JA STEM Pre-apprenticeship Certification program scheduled for April 24 has been postponed to the fall.

Now more than ever, it is our hope that you continue to focus on what is truly important... you and those you love. When the time is right, we will be here... ready to continue our mission of inspiring students.

Thank you for being a valued part of our community, and stay well.

Resources for Educators

Though schools are closed, Junior Achievement is here to support  educators  during this period of uncertainty. Learning can continue and JA is providing access to learning experiences that students can do on their own, with a parent or other caring adult, or with teachers via a digital/virtual environment.
Currently we have a full listing of JA programs from K to 5th grade.   We are working on providing some limited middle and high school programs.   All of these programs are provided to schools for free.

Resources for Parents

For students and parents  during this period of uncertainty. Learning can continue and JA is providing access to learning experiences that students can do on their own, with a parent or other caring adult via a digital/virtual environment.
Resources are organized by school level and can be used whether or not you've engaged in a JA program in the past. We will be continuing to add to the content in the coming days so check back often.

JA Volunteers inspire students
JA's unique approach allows volunteers from the community to deliver our curriculum while sharing their experiences with students. Embodying the heart of JA, our 7,000 volunteers transform the key concepts of our lessons into a message that inspires and empowers students to believe in themselves, showing them that they can make a difference in the world.

Junior Achievement celebrates 100 Years with 100% Ready

Locally, Junior Achievement has been around since 1955.   But the national organization got its start in 1919.   So 2019  marked  our 100th year anniversary.   The following video is a short recap of 100 years.
