July 1, 2016, Junior Achievment of Central PA joined with Junior Achievement of South Central PA. This consolidation brings together two JA organizations with sixty years of history.
The combined area covers fourteen counties and includes 95 school districts. Over 350,000 students in public and private schools are attending Kindergarten to 12th grade.
The combined area will have an operating budget of $2.0 million for the 2016-17 school year. The goal is to reach over 85,000 students.
The main office will be located in York at 610 S. George Street. The organization will maintain offices in Lancaster and Harrisburg.
The staff of JA of Central PA joined the staff of JA of South Central PA. In total the organization has over 60 associates.
The growth strategy calls on placing an emphasis on Lancaster and Lebanon counties. For 2016-17, the plan is to grow total students reached from 16,000 to 30,000 in this area. Then in 2017-18 to 40,000 students.
