As we end the 2021 school year and students gear up for the summer, Junior Achievement of SWLA would like to thank the Taco Bell Foundation.

Thanks to grant monies donated at the beginning of the school year from the Taco Bell Foundation, JA SWLA was able to place financial literacy and economic programs in schools. Local high school and middle school students participated in Virtual Finance Park, Economics for Success and Personal Finance Programs.

JA Finance Park is Junior Achievement's capstone program for personal financial planning and career exploration. This program, comprising a curriculum and a simulation, helps students in grades 7–12 build a foundation on which they can make intelligent financial decisions that last a lifetime, including decisions related to income, expenses, savings, and credit.

JA Economics for Success gives students the information needed to build strong personal finances, a cornerstone to a happy, secure life. Students learn the importance of exploring career options based on their skills, interests, and values.

JA Personal Finance allows students to experience the interrelationship between today's financial decisions and future financial freedom. To achieve financial health and wellness, they learn about money-management strategies, including earning, employment and income, budgeting, savings, credit and debt, consumer protection, smart shopping, risk management, investing, credit card usage, debt management, and net worth.

Junior Achievement (JA) provides in-school and after-school programs for students in grades K-12.  JA offers educational programs that focus on three key content areas: entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy. Junior Achievement uses hands-on experiences to help young people understand the business of life.  In a partnership with business and educators, Junior Achievement brings the real world to students, opening their minds to their potential and preparing them for the world of work.

JA SWLA is thankful for their partnership with The Taco Bell Foundation and the opportunities that were available this school year for our SWLA students and teachers.
