Coronavirus Statement | Junior Achievement of Southwest New England

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT OF Southwest New England COVID-19 RESPONSE

As Junior Achievement continues to navigate the recent COVID-19 crisis, we do so with empathy and action.  To date, we have donated more than thirty care packages of much needed cleaning and/or medical supplies to dozens of schools, companies, hospitals, and individuals.  We are committed to helping others during this challenging time.

We have made the safety and health of our staff and all partners our number one priority.  The JA staff has been working remotely since Thursday, March 12.  We have suspended all JA programming until April 30 and will continue to adjust our timeline based on the guidance of local government, education, and healthcare leaders.  In the meantime, we are offering FREE on-line content to educators and parents as they seek new and different ways to engage with children remotely.

Financially, all decisions we are making as an organization today are aimed at ensuring Junior Achievement is in a position of strength and ready to serve our schools and corporate partners when this crisis is over.  With your help, we will get through this together and continue to build on the great momentum we have built over the last several years.

These are tough times for everyone, but we remain committed to keeping our people at work.  Not only will this keep JA strong, but it will keep families strong and our economy strong during this unprecedented time and beyond.  Our commitment must remain to our people and our constituents – students, teachers, volunteers, donors, and all supporters.  The JA mission of "empowering young people to own their economic success" has never been more relevant.  When this crisis is over, young people will need to understand that their future success is still possible and that the JA network stands ready to support and lead them.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment to Junior Achievement.

Stay safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Jeremy Race, M.Ed.
