Scholarship Opportunities
The Board of Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay believes in the potential of its youth. Two scholarship funds were developed, one honoring Pamela and Leslie Muma and the other honoring Frances and Gus Stavros. These scholarships were made possible through the generosity of the Junior Achievement Board of Directors and are awarded annually to students in the Tampa Bay area. Scholarship award winners who receive these awards exemplify the impact of Junior Achievement programs on our young people.
"Many people in the neighborhood where I live have lost their way! Not me! I owe that to my mom! She prays everyday that we don't fall victim to the streets.
My dream is to be a neonatal nurse so I am preparing to go to college. Junior Achievement's Summer Career Institute told me what classes I should be taking, how to get into college and about scholarships that would make college possible for me.
In addition, my Junior Achievement taught us how to get a job, what skills are important to employers and then helped us develop those skills. We did that through a fun group project during which we created our own companies and then had to marketed it.
My mom can't hide us from the trouble and hardships life brings. But with the help of Junior Achievement she can help us obtain the knowledge and skills that we will need to be successful."
