JA Finance Park®

Middle and High School Program

Located in Auburn, Spokane and Yakima, WA

Where would middle and high school students be engaged in the real-life experience of creating and maintaining a personal budget? Where would they be asked to create a lifestyle budget that factors in health care providers, real estate offices, car dealer, home improvement stores, banks, supermarkets, restaurants, stock brokers, and utilities?
This will all happen at JA Finance Park where students study the concept of personal financial management in the classroom, and then apply them in a life-like business environment. JA Finance Park is an actual center, structured in a business park setting with up to 14 local businesses represented. Students visit each business at JA Finance Park and utilize the information they receive to create their own personal budget.

  • Family Health Care

A Special Thanks to KPMG

JA Finance Park curriculum is made possible through a generous gift from the KPMG Foundation. The grant was used to revise, design, promote and evaluate the new JA Finance Park, with a goal of more strongly infusing 21st-century learning concepts and techniques. The grant also supported the revision of the simulation technology that fosters student understanding of personal budget and smart money-management practices. JA Finance Park impacts more than 150,000 students across the nation each year and continues to grow. In addition to financial support, KPMG provides volunteers at JA Finance Park locations to support the experiential aspect of the students learning.
