About JA of Washington in King County/Seattle

Junior Achievement in Seattle, the Eastside, and the King County metro area of Washington State (JA King) launched its very first programs in 1953. Currently, JA King serves over 30,000 students, offering traditional in-school programs and JA Days in grades K-12, and JA Job Shadows. In 2005, JA World in Auburn opened its doors, providing JA's highest impact programs, JA Finance Park® and JA BizTown®, to students throughout Western Washington.

Volunteering for JA King County/Seattle

Each year, JA King relies upon thousands of volunteers to bring its programs to local area school students. The dynamic interaction between the volunteer and the students provides active learning and brings theory to life. 
Are you qualified to volunteer in a classroom or at JA World? Yes! JA volunteers come from all walks of life, including valued employees, retirees, parents, and college students. All you need is a desire to be an inspirational role model, along with the ability to communicate, motivate, and create enthusiasm. Volunteers are also required to sign a Volunteer Conduct Standards form. Training in person and/or online is provided.

Cheers! Our May 31st event was a great sampling locally crafted beers and ciders!

Through raffle tickets, auction items, admission tickets, and donations JA Cheers to 100 Years participates contributed $24,000 to support JA programs!

Thank you for those who particpated in the 2019 Golf Classic & Auction in June 2019, over $173,000 was raised to support JA programs.

Stay tuned for Information about the 29th Annual Golf Classic and Auction in June 2020!  The event includes an 18-Hole Scramble featuring a magnificent day of golf, on-course lunch, commemorative apparel, golf balls, tee-prizes, and contests! Followed by a celebratory evening which includes a cocktail reception, dinner, and live & silent auctions.

The Junior Achievement Bowling classic is a fun event and one of JA's biggest fundraisers! Each year hundreds of people join together with family, friends and co-workers at their local bowling alley to help JA provide financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship programs to local students.

JA of Washington's signature annual event, the Dare to Dream Dinner & Auction, brings together top businessmen and women in the Puget Sound region and beyond, to support Junior Achievement at a remarkable venue, T-Mobile Park. Guests enjoy a cocktail reception, field games, an exquisite dinner with fine-wine. Bid generously on an exclusive array of unique and extraordinary experiences, vacations and sporting events. Proceeds from Dare to Dream provide JA programs for thousands of Washington students.
