About JA in Southeastern Washington

Junior Achievement in the Southeastern region of Washington State (JA SEWA) launched its very first programs in 1987. Currently, nearly 11,000 students are served annually by JA SEWA, offering traditional in-school programs in grades K-12, and JA Job Shadows. In addition, 900 students in JA SEWA had the opportunity last year to travel to Yakima to experience JA BizTown® and JA Finance Park®.

Volunteering for JA Southeastern Washington

Each year, JA SEWA relies upon over 450 volunteers to bring its programs to local area school students. The dynamic interaction between the volunteer and the students provides active learning and brings theory to life. 
Are you qualified to volunteer in a classroom? Yes! JA volunteers come from all walks of life, including valued employees, retirees, parents, and college students. All you need is a desire to be an inspirational role model, along with the ability to communicate, motivate, and create enthusiasm. Volunteers are also required to sign a Volunteer Conduct Standards form. Training in person and/or online is provided.

Southeastern Washington's Hearts are Wild Gala brings together top business professionals in our community to support Junior Achievement. The annual Gala is an unforgettable event, including a champagne reception, casino games, exquisite hors d'oeuvres, fine wine, craft beer, and cocktails. Guests bid on exclusive silent auction items, exchanged chips for prizes, participated in our jewelry raffle pull, and enjoyed sweet & savory wine pairing stations, all while helping to provide JA programs for thousands of students in our local region.

The Junior Achievement Bowling classic is a fun event and one of JA's biggest fundraisers! Each year hundreds of people join together with family, friends and co-workers at their local bowling alley to help JA provide financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship programs to local students.

JA of Washington's signature annual event, the Dare to Dream Dinner & Auction, brings together top businessmen and women to support Junior Achievement at a remarkable venue, T-Mobile Park. Guests enjoy a cocktail reception, field games, an exquisite dinner with fine-wine. Bid generously on an exclusive array of unique and extraordinary experiences, vacations and sporting events. Proceeds from Dare to Dream provide JA programs for thousands of Washington students.
