About JA in the South Puget Sound

Junior Achievement in the South Puget Sound area of Washington State (JA SPS) launched its very first programs in 1953. Currently, over 19,000 students are served annually by JA SPS, offering traditional in-school programs and JA Days in grades K-12, and JA Job Shadows. In 2005, JA World in Auburn opened its doors, providing JA's highest impact programs, JA BizTown®, and JA Finance Park® to students throughout Western Washington.

Volunteering for JA South Puget Sound

Each year, JA SPS relies upon 4,500 volunteers to bring its programs to local area school students. The dynamic interaction between the volunteer and the students provides active learning and brings theory to life. 
 
Are you qualified to volunteer in a classroom or at JA World? Yes! JA volunteers come from all walks of life, including valued employees, retirees, parents, and college students. All you need is a desire to be an inspirational role model, along with the ability to communicate, motivate, and create enthusiasm. Volunteers are also required to sign a Volunteer Conduct Standards form. Training in person and/or online is provided.

JA South Puget Sound Educational Partners

Teachers, Junior Achievement reaches students in grades K-12, providing programs in schools throughout South King County, Pierce County, and the surrounding areas. Educators fully enjoy the opportunity to engage their students in a fun, hands-on program that will equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to create their own successful future. JA Cheers to 100 Years Tasting Festival

Cheers to 100 years! Junior Achievement of Washington is celebrating our national Centennial with a beer tasting festival hosted at JA World in Auburn. Enjoy locally brewed beers, live music, a silent auction and munchies from local food trucks while supporting local students in our community.

The 2019 Golf Classic & Auction includes an 18-Hole Scramble featuring a magnificent day of golf, on-course lunch, commemorative apparel, golf balls, tee-prizes, and contests! Followed by a celebratory evening which includes a cocktail reception, dinner, and live & silent auctions.

The Junior Achievement Bowling classic is a fun event and one of JA's biggest fundraisers! Each year hundreds of people join together with family, friends and co-workers at their local bowling alley to help JA provide financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship programs to local students.

JA of Washington's signature annual event, the Dare to Dream Dinner & Auction, brings together top businessmen and women in the Puget Sound region and beyond, to support Junior Achievement at a remarkable venue, T-Mobile Park. Guests enjoy a cocktail reception, field games, an exquisite dinner with fine-wine. Bid generously on an exclusive array of unique and extraordinary experiences, vacations and sporting events. Proceeds from Dare to Dream provide JA programs for thousands of Washington students.
