JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT'S LOCAL IMPACT
Junior Achievement's Purpose is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.
Thanks to our loyal donors, committed volunteers, and community partners, over 22,000 students in Western Connecticut during the 2016-17 school year received life-changing lessons and experiences that will empower them with the skills and knowledge they need to achieve their dreams.
970 educators in 100 schools realized the growing need for the life skills that JA experiential financial literacy, work-readiness and entrepreneurship programs provide, and welcomed JA programs in class, through job shadows, and at business venues. Over 1,000 business and community volunteers dedicated their time to teaching JA programs, empowering students to be better prepared to make informed choices about their personal finance and future career paths.
We serve twenty towns in Western Connecticut: Ansonia, Bethel, Bridgeport, Brookfield, Danbury, Derby, Easton, Fairfield, Monroe, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield, Seymour, Shelton, Sherman, Stratford, Trumbull, and Wilton.
