EDUCATION ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Junior Achievement of Western PA (JAWPA) is a nonprofit organization which utilizes volunteers from the community to teach its programs in-school to children in grades K12. JAWPA teaches about entrepreneurship, financial literacy and work readiness. JAWPA seeks a dynamic individual to join its team as our Education Administrative Assistant. This role supports the Metro Education Department. Must be dedicated, have a great work ethic, experience with data entry and be able to take on projects and manage deadlines as needed. This is a part time position with fairly flexible hours. It is an up to 30 hour per week position at $12/hour. This position will assist all members of the Metro Education Team in entering data, following up with volunteers and other support staff duties as necessary. Details of tasks are as follows: 1. Data Entry: Responsible for entering data from schools and volunteers into a Blackbaud software program, BCRM. Follows-up with schools/volunteer sources if missing data to collect data. 2. Ordering Blended Courses and Kits: Responsible for ordering all blended courses online for staff and accompanying teaching materials for online courses and kit-based courses. 3. Volunteer Data Entry and Follow-Up: Responsible for entering all prospective volunteers into an internal database and following up with a personalized initial phone call to discuss volunteers' geographic preferences to volunteer as well as our upcoming classroom volunteer opportunities. Associates/Bachelors degree or minimum of a 2 to 3 years of small business / office management experience. Must have strong oral/written communication skills. A background in data entry is a plus. Strong computer literacy.

EDUCATION PROGRAM MANAGER
POSITION CONCEPT: Assists Metro Education Team in managing educational programs and events with particular emphasis on educational marketing, recruiting, training of volunteers, placement and support. Facilitates activities of volunteers, teachers and school administrators, upholds quality standards for the organization, assures adherence to program models and program expansion, develops and maintains good educator relationships at all levels, and is a liaison to Board committees. This position requires some local travel (40%+)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Manages program quantity and quality in the Diocese of Pittsburgh Schools. Recruits and renews JA classroom volunteer commitments through individual renewals and JA Company Coordinators. Implements training programs to corporate and community JA classroom volunteers. Coordinates the placement and scheduling of trained volunteers. Assures adherence to program models and files all needed program information. Develops and implements plans for teacher and consultant contacts including: visits, phone, e-mail, and fax. Manages procurement and delivery of all program materials. 2. Collects and manages scholarship applications and process which begins in January, 2019 and ends in May, 2019. 3. Assists Metro Education Team by facilitating volunteer trainings throughout their territory as needed; also assists with recycling efforts of volunteers' JA teaching materials. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Required: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience. Strong oral/written communication and organizational/planning skills. Computer literacy. Current Driver's License and vehicle.

DIRECTOR OF JA BIZTOWN
POSITION CONCEPT: This position is responsible for the overall quality and effectiveness of JA BizTown and JA Finance Park for students, teachers, volunteers and funders. Works with the JA Area President to assure that the Capstone strategy supports the overall business objectives of JA of Western Pennsylvania. The position also increases public awareness for the program; ensures program quality, expansion and good school relations; develops the budget, and yearly planning calendar for the program.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop annual strategy and operating plans related to the Capstone programs that support the overall JA Area business objectives. Responsible for marketing and successful recruitment of the program to expand and grow the reach and impact of JA [insert the JA Area name]. Ensure that program targets for number of students served are reached. Coordinate with development team to provide support to Capstone shop sponsors, strengthen partnerships and create recognition opportunities Administer pre- and post- testing to assess effectiveness of programs for funders, schools, school districts, etc. Monitor curriculum progress at participating schools; prepare and update annual schedule for visits and training on a regular basis. Work with school district representatives on program implementation, funding and evaluation. Ensure participating schools have all information required for effective implementation. Conduct and ensure effectiveness of teacher and volunteer training; ensure attendance at training. Seek and secure sufficient volunteer resources to support program implementation. Prepare and present presentations to local community groups to grow program participation. Develop annual budget. Maintain and update computer equipment; develop a schedule for purchases, if necessary. Manage Capstone staff to assure effective operation of the program including, recruiting, hiring, training and managing performance to assure retention of quality talent. Other projects as required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Four or more years of JA or related experience. Prior experience in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience working with children. Two years of classroom or business experience is strongly desired. Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills. Established relationships with area schools and businesses. Familiarity with budgeting required. Self-motivated with strong customer service skills. Strong problem solving skills; strong presentation and public speaking skills. Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced, changing environment. Flexible with time; able to be on feet for long periods of time. Organized and detail oriented. Advanced computer skills.
