Providing Free Resources to Teachers, Caregivers and Students to Help Navigate the Impact of COVID-19

Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania is offering free resources for teachers, parents and caregivers who may have students finishing school online to help navigate through the social distancing impacts of COVID-19.

The JA Teacher and Parent Resources site provides access to short videos, JA programs, and at-home activities for grades K-12. The site also features the JA Virtual Speaker Series, a collection of videos filmed by local Pittsburghers, geared towards students in grades 6-12 as well as Making Sense: Understanding the Financial Impact of COVID-19, a guide designed to answer teens’ questions about the economic implications of COVID-19, These free resources can be found all in one place at:

“During this unique time in our community, we are doing our part to help ensure students continue their education at-home and help parents, caregivers and teachers make the most out of at-home-learning.” said Dennis Gilfoyle, President and CEO. “Our goal is to help young people better understand what’s happening. April is Financial Literacy Month, and this is a really important time to be sharing this kind of information.”

In these uncertain times of change, one thing that has not changed is Junior Achievement’s commitment to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed.

“I am a huge proponent of Junior Achievement,” said Debbie Reynolds, a teacher at J.E. Harrison Middle School in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District. “As a long-time program partner with Junior Achievement, teachers like me appreciate the continued support we receive from JA, especially during this critical time where students, their parents and teachers look to continue learning in a challenging world.”

For more than 80 years, Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania has been providing the educational programming and financial literacy resources to ensure students’ tomorrows and the region’s future workforce. Today is uncertain, tomorrow represents hopes and dreams.
