The Junior Achievement office in Madison is one of 12 area offices in the state. Governed by a local board of directors comprised of business and community leaders, the Dane County Area is serving nearly 7,000 students in over 300 classrooms in Dane, Sauk, Columbia, Dodge, Iowa, Jefferson, Crawford, Richland, and Lafayette counties.

JA Career Speaker Live Event - Celebrate African American Entrepreneurs and Inspire Your Students to Dream Big
Join us and celebrate African American Entrepreneurs on February 2, 2021 from 10:00-10:45 AM. Dr. Leroy Nunery II, Denise Thomas, and Michael Sheppard will share their stories while you and your students can learn about three unique pathways to achieve your dreams. Students can join live or virtually, so simply sign up and let us know your preference.

SCHOLARSHIPS
There are 2 scholarships available to students in Dane County:
1. Vernon J. Hellenbrand Memorial Scholarship
This annual award is given to two deserving applicants who are seniors in high school anywhere in Dane County. Applicants must be eligible for admission to an accredited technical school, college or university where they will pursue coursework toward an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in business, finance or entrepreneurship.
Vernon J. Hellenbrand Scholarship Application Deadline: Applications should be postmarked by Wednesday, March 31, 2021

2. Lyda M. Locke Scholarship
This annual award is given to up to two deserving applicants who are seniors in high school anywhere in Dane County. Applicants must be eligible for admission to an accredited technical school, college or university where they will pursue coursework toward an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in business, finance or banking. Applicants must have participated in at least one Junior Achievement high school class program.
