Junior Achievement (JA) empowers young people to own their economic success®. Our volunteer-delivered, kindergarten-12th grade programs foster work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills, and use experiential learning to inspire kids to dream big and reach their potential.
Junior Achievement USA has spent almost 100 years providing young people with economic education skills that prepare them to succeed in the real world. Each year, JA programs reach more than 4.6 million students in 201,000 classrooms in the United States.
Here in Western New York, JA has been providing these important skills to young people since 1958. Last year we reached 13,928 students in 673 classes.
JA is a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization. Our programs are taught by classroom volunteers from businesses and the local community. Business professionals, parents, retirees, and college students use their personal experiences to make the JA curriculum relevant and applicable to today's workplace. Providing children with positive adult role models, who help students develop practical life skills and a positive attitude needed to successfully vie in our free enterprise system, is a hallmark of Junior Achievement.
It's not an easy task. But it's the kind of challenge that JA takes on with creative energy, fervor, and decisive action. Are you ready to take up this challenge? Get involved today!
