WHAT IS Play4JA ?
January – June 2021
Play4JA, Presented by Bank of America
is a virtual reimagining of Junior Achievement of WNY's largest fundraising event, Bowl-A-Thon.
Play4JA WNY is a peer-to-peer virtual fundraising event to take the place of Bowl-A-Thon 2021. Due to the social and physical limitations of COVID-19, we have created this event that can continue to build awareness for Junior Achievement, raise critical funds, and encourage team building with participating companies.
- Participants are asked to raise a minimum of $50 in pledges to help support Junior Achievement programs in our local schools. JA programs teach students about financial literacy and provide them with the skills they need to succeed in the "real world." All money raised stays here in our WNY community.
- Players gain access into our months' worth of scheduled contests In March to earn recognition and win prizes.
- Bowling - Virtual or in person
- Trivia including Are You Smarter Than a JA 5th Grader rounds
- Corporate Stock Market Challenge
- "Name Your Game" - Teams are encouraged to plan their own company activities in the name of JA to help with their team fundraising efforts. Example include: Cornhole Tournament, Bingo, Minute to Win it, Simon Says.
Throughout the month of March 2021 we will keep track of our corporate fundraising teams. Prizes will be distributed to top teams, and highest fundraisers. We will focus efforts on social media for sponsorship benefits as well as team engagement.
Additionally, June 1-15, 2021 will be our JA Financial Fitness Movement fundraiser. Individuals raise funds and track their "Exercise Miles" to support JA. See Courtney McClurg for details.
HOW IT WORKS:
- Individuals raise funds as part of virtual team(s) representing their company.
- Each participant is asked to raise a minimum of $50
